WATERPROOFING CONSULTATION AND DESIGN

Gale provided waterproofing consultation for the exterior painting project and restoration of the South Portico of the California State Capitol Building. Our services included evaluating the existing portico waterproofing systems and developing recommendations for remediation, designing new waterproofing systems for the balustrade and colonnade decks of the capitol dome, consultation regarding the waterproofing aspects of the exterior walls, and periodic construction observation and field engineering during the construction phase.

Gale was awarded the 2003 Preservation Design Award in the Restoration Category for this project.
