The new Newton North High School is being built to replace the existing high school which was experiencing multiple moisture and air infiltration issues. In an effort to reduce these problems from occurring in the new building, Turner Construction Company (Owner’s Construction Manager) hired Gale to perform peer reviews of the project specifications and drawings with a concentration on the building envelope (exterior walls, roofs, windows, curtain walls, and doors). Gale’s services also included performing a dew point analysis utilizing the WUFI Software Program, mock-up and in-field testing, and whole building air tightness analysis (ASTM E 1827 testing). Gale is currently assisting Turner with full-time construction monitoring of the building envelope, managing coordination meetings with the contractors and subcontractors, and assisting the Architect with solving design issues raised in the field.
