ROOF REPLACEMENT AND ASSOCIATED WORK
The library was experiencing repeated moisture infiltration due to open elastomeric roof membrane seams, roof flashing penetrations, voids in the attic insulation system, and improperly-installed through-wall flashings. Gale designed a new thermoplastic (PVC) roof system with thermal insulation to reduce condensation occurrences and new decorative profile strips on the visible roof elevations to replicate a standing seam roof system. We added new through-wall flashings around the perimeter of the building. Gale also designed a modified insulation system to improve the thermal properties of the building, which reduced roof-related heating/cooling costs.
