PLAN, DESIGN, PERMIT, AND CONSTRUCT A CONSOLIDATED FACILITY

Gale assisted the Town of Hingham’s Department of Public Works (DPW) to plan, design, permit, and construct a consolidated facility on a new 40-acre, town-owned parcel. We evaluated the DPW organization, equipment, policies, and procedures, and interviewed staff members to develop a design program that reflected the functional requirements and priorities for the new facility. The permitting was complicated by its proximity to an area of critical habitat, a flood plain, and a riverfront area of a perennial stream. Gale’s site design and drainage solutions were exposed to multiple rigorous peer reviews and prevailed as technically sound. We also completed a comprehensive study of the best regional DPW facilities and incorporated the most innovative concepts into the new Hingham DPW.
