ROOF EVALUATION AND DESIGN

The Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida was undergoing a large expansion project. The existing facility was experiencing moisture intrusion through the 2,000,000 s.f. roof. Gale correlated the interior water damage with exterior defects, identifying defective construction and vulnerable detail design. Our solution included eliminating suspect and problematic detail conditions, replacing flat-lock seam panels with better performing standing seam panels, improving thermal performance, and creating a drainable, redundant roof system. Implementation of the work was achieved through some innovative methods, including helicopter-lifted roof materials.

This project was completed under budget and on time.
