WALL INVESTIGATION
Originally constructed in 1896, the exterior walls
of this building had been deteriorating for a long time
and multiple attempts at repair had been attempted.
Pertinent issues for this project were to preserve the
historic fabric of the structure, slow the deterioration
of the building components, maintain and/or restore
the watertight integrity of the building envelope, and
meet the aesthetic requirements of the Union PSCE. Gale
investigated and evaluated the condition and quality
of the exterior masonry walls, particularly the brownstone,
brick, and terra-cotta elements and provided a comprehensive
report.
