SPORTS STADIUM RECONSTRUCTION

Gale provided planning, design, permitting, and construction administration for the redevelopment of Framingham State College's (FSC) multi-purpose sports stadium. The project scope included a 400-meter, urethane running track and field complex, as well as a new, "filled-turf" synthetic NCAA compliant field intended for soccer, football, field hockey, and lacrosse. Gale’s services also included bleacher relocation and modification design, survey, wetlands delineation, and athletic lighting design. We worked with FSC staff to develop a turf specification for the infilled turf that allowed for fair and open competition while restricting less desirable products.

The site was located within a wetland area and within the riverfront area of a perennial stream; additionally, it was located within a 100-year floodplain. We assisted FSC to secure the challenging floodplain and wetlands permits and to bid the project within 60 days of a Notice to Proceed.
