Green Street Administration Building
Anne Arundel Public Schools, Maryland |
COPPER/SLATE ROOF REPLACEMENT, SKYLIGHT REPAIR
Located in the Historic District of Annapolis, the Green Street facility’s roof was deteriorated from deferred maintenance and the structural components were damaged from water infiltration. Due to the building’s historic status, remediation options were limited. Gale evaluated the existing conditions and developed design documents, which were approved by Historic Annapolis, the regulating authority for renovation work within the Historic District. The project involved removal and replacement of the slate and copper roofing, and restoration of the architectural woodwork supporting the roof gutters and the original wired glass skylight. Gale was complimented by Historic Annapolis reviewers for producing “the most complete renovation documents for a historic building” seen by the committee for some time.
