This massive B&O Warehouse building was constructed in 1904 and is the longest building east of the Mississippi to this day. The Warehouse was extensively renovated in the early 1900s to adapt it for use as offices and retail space as part of the construction of Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The structure had developed various building envelope issues, including an aged and deteriorated roof system and weather-related deterioration of the wall elements. The Maryland Stadium Authority was particularly concerned about potential falling debris hazards associated with spalling stone and brick masonry. Gale evaluated the existing roofing and flashing systems, and conducted a systemic wall and window condition survey. We prepared a comprehensive report including detailed material condition assessments, photographic documentation of observed defects, annotated elevation drawings, and detailed recommendations associated with construction costs.
