O’Connell House (Historic), Boston College
Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts

Gale was retained by Boston College to evaluate the exterior façade of O’Connell House, a graduate student dormitory building (originally constructed in 1895 as a private residence). This historic building consists of load-bearing exterior brick masonry walls with limestone and cast stone architectural accents. Gale was retained to assess the building for moisture intrusion and deteriorated façade conditions. Gale provided Boston College with a report detailing building defects, prioritized repair recommendations, and cost estimates. Following the evaluation, Gale provided design and consulting services to facilitate various masonry and stone repairs.
