Constructed in 1932, the slate roof had been experiencing natural weathering and deterioration, requiring an ongoing maintenance effort. Gale evaluated the slate roofing and flashing system to determine the extent of repairs/replacement required. We performed destructive testing at various locations; researched slate replacement to comply with the original design and historical significance; and designed complete slate downspout, gutter, snow guard, and all metal flashing replacements.
